Porcelain Petals, Held in Time

There’s something poetic about a flower—a delicate bloom that captures a fleeting moment of beauty. But what if that beauty could last forever?

This porcelain carnation is the first of many, an exploration of nature’s elegance transformed into something timeless. Like my Rocky Mountain paintings, these flowers are rooted in my deep appreciation for the natural world—one that is ever-changing yet eternal.

Each petal is shaped by hand, air-dried into permanence, and preserved in its most graceful form. It won’t wilt, it won’t fade—just like the mountains that inspire my work, standing steadfast through time.

This first bloom inspired a poem, a reflection on art’s ability to hold nature still.

Porcelain Petals, Held in Time

Glass-bone bloom, frozen in time,

petals crisp as mountain wind,

silent—yet it sings.

Fingers shape the fragile earth,

air kisses clay to stone,

no wilt, no fade, no falling away.

It stands—soft, yet unbreakable,

like peaks that touch the sky,

like echoes locked in painted light.

Nature lingers where hands remember.

A flower. A mountain. A moment.

Held forever.

This is just the beginning. Soon, more flowers will take shape, standing together in a vase—an everlasting bouquet.

If you love the idea of nature preserved in art, follow along as I create more pieces, blending delicate porcelain with the bold landscapes of my paintings.
