Cityscapes

I've been working on creating a series of expressive cityscapes inspired by natural elements. My project "Artist Take Over" is progressing, and I hope to turn these inspirations into a series of paintings. My studio hours depend on art sales, artist support, and acquiring new materials. In April, I completed an abstract cityscape painting using a drip art technique with acrylics. I plan to capture similar moods in new paintings as the summer progresses. I'm aiming to buy new pre-stretched canvases soon.

This is a painting I completed in May 2024. I used drip art techniques to create a rustic abstract pile of coal as the main natural element. In the image, you see a lava-like shoot that is erupting. This painting was inspired by the St-Anthony’s building where the Take Over Project is taking place. I’m thinking of adding gold leaf pen to the horizon lines to showcase the cityscape and I have added dates with stamps to create texture and volume in certain parts of the scape. Here you can see a video of in progress. I invite you to visit Saatchi Arts if you are interested in supporting my work.
