The Intersection of Watercolor, Oil, and Acrylics
Studio Blog: The Intersection of Watercolor, Oil, and Acrylics
In my studio, I move between the bold textures of oils, the fluidity of watercolors, and the versatility of acrylics. Each medium has its own role—oils for building depth, watercolors for planning and refining, and acrylics as a bridge to ease transitions between the two.
Watercolor helps me create space and plan my oil pieces, while acrylics allow me to adjust and warm up before diving into the intensity of oils. I invite you to explore my studio blog to get a closer look at my creative process.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on blending mediums in your own work! Stay tuned for more.

"When Music Meets Watercolor: The Unseen Rhythm of My Rocky Mountain Collection"
When Music Meets Watercolor: The Unseen Rhythm of My Rocky Mountain Collection
In my latest creative exploration, I discovered a surprising synergy between the music I play and the watercolor paintings I create. As I sat at the piano, with my Rocky Mountain paintings at arm's reach, I found myself unconsciously syncing the rhythm of my brushstrokes to the flow of my music. The act of playing while studying my art revealed emotions and ideas that I hadn't anticipated, allowing the brushstrokes and the colors to speak in a completely new way. It was an unexpected, joyful journey of listening to the visuals and letting the music guide my brush. Curious how this all unfolded? Read the full blog here to see how sound and color come together in my studio.

PLWA Secchi Dip & water pollution
Kayaking offers a unique blend of relaxation and motivation, providing an opportunity to connect with nature while staying active. In Edmonton, the limited number of lakes led me to explore alternative options.
Pigeon Lake emerged as a captivating choice, known for its picturesque setting but also notable for its abundance of vegetation. Curious to know wether that was actually healthy for the lake, I decided to look into it.
To address environmental concerns and assess water quality, I partnered with a local environmental organization. Together, we conducted tests to measure the lake’s health and to understand the impact of excessive vegetation on water quality and aquatic life.
